Last Sad Rites for Oscar Johnston Held Saturday
The last sad rites for Oscar Johnston were held at the Congregational Community church on Saturday afternoon. He died Thursday in Soda Springs Idaho from organic heart disease after an operation for bladder troubles three weeks prior. Perry W. Jenkins spoke at the funeral and led the Lord's Prayer. the grave was dedicated at Big Piney cemetery and several local residents sang hymns. Oscar Johnston, born June 8 1870 in Van Buren County Iowa, moved to Wyoming 32 years ago and lived as a bachelor, leaving survivors including a brother, sister, and two nephews.
