Farm production falls as population rises per capita output drops
A 34 year study by the Scary Troebuck Agricultural Foundation using USDA data shows total crop production rising slowly but per capita output shrinking. Using 1910 as a base of 110, recent three year average per capita production sits at 92.3, while total production averages 163. The chart tracks 1890 to 1923 across ten crops including corn and wheat, combining yields into a common price basis to compare annual output.
