The regular meeting of the Big Piney Wyoming Town Council was called to order by Mayor Corneill Fear on June 6 1960 at 8 00 p m Present were Councilmen Gurney Davis Stevens Absent Marie Parrel Also present were Luce Fox Rev Rowley Grace Slater Mrs Travis Owens Mrs Bill Painter Mrs Evie Forsythe Jim Osborne and Earl Hayes Minutes of May meetings were read and approved Current bills were approved including salaries for May and various town services totaling a substantial amount The meeting adjourned with Cornelia L Fear as Mayor and Rachel A Scherbel as Clerk

Veterans add child compensation under new law
Veterans with severe service connected disabilities who have more than three children are eligible for additional monthly payments under a new law signed by the President and effective June 8. The payments vary by disability rating from 6 to 12 dollars per child after the first three, with higher rates for wartime service, and dependents remain eligible until 18 or marriage under the act.
