Big Piney Town Council Sets 1965 66 Budget and Police Schedule
The Town Council of Big Piney Wyoming met June 21 1965 to approve minutes appoint duties assign streets and alleys to L jamieson and others set a direct line to the sheriff 49 05 monthly and assign police shifts. They created a police salary plan with Tracy 350 per month starting June 1 1965 and a top of 400 with quarterly raises. A police judge Andy Underhill was named at 50 per month and a 1965 66 budget Exhibit A for general fund Receipts and disbursements was adopted.

A 125th anniversary observance of the First Mass in what is now Wyoming is planned with a sunrise flag raising by local Boy Scouts and a 9:00 A M Mass on July 4. The event honors the July 5 1840 milestone in the Rocky Mountains. Public participation is invited.

Big Piney to celebrate July 4 weekend on July 3 and 4 with a 1:30 p.m. rodeo on the 3rd and a fireworks display in the evening. Big Piney to Redeem District 7 Bonds on August First
The Town of Big Piney will redeem Local Assessment District No 7 bonds numbers 1 through 3 for 3184.20 plus 63.68 interest and numbers 4 through 6 for 3000.00 plus 97.50 interest on August 1 1965. Payable through the State Bank of Big Piney. The council discussed water rates for lawn uses but made no decision. The Plainview Cemetery Association officers were asked to operate the Plainview Cemetery with no expenses approved. The council adjourned with no further action. Paul N Scherbel mayor.
