Lincoln Highway Completes West Celebrations at Ely Nevada
Four states Nebraska Nevada California and Idaho joined Ely Nevada in marking the final link of the Lincoln Highway. Governor Bern of Utah attended, ceremonies included a parade showing transport history and a dynamite demolition of an abandoned smelter site. A stagecoach ride for the Utah governor capped the event amid the start of the interstate highway era.

Vast Bingham mine fuels Utah Ely road talks
The Bingham mine in Utah exports low grade ore to AlegiL for smelting, producing about 11,000 tons daily. The underground pit sits a mile long and 550 feet deep, employing around 1,000 workers with 200 underground, 275 in the pit, and 220 on the surface. A new shut is sinking with talks of faster travel times along the Wendover to Ely road and ongoing highway oiling and paving projects across White Pine county and Nevada.
