Sublette County roping club announces the first real rodeo at the local grounds next Sunday afternoon June 10. Junior bronc riders and topers will perform, with events including bareback bronc riding calf roping bull riding and cow milking. Girls compete in a barrel race and a band box race with no entrance fee.
Congressman Thomson introduces H R 11501 calling for transfer of federal land in Jacksons Hole designated for the South Park Fish Hatchery to Jackson Wyoming. Mayor Clissold requests the move to create a Boy Scout camping ground while surplus land awaits reallocation. The move aims to support a new hatchery nearby with funds and later construction tied to the Palisades project.
The annual school meeting of the Southwest School District will be held at the High School building in Big Piney on Tuesday June 19 at 2 00 o clock pm It is hoped that a good attendance of patrons of the district will attend Cornelia M Sewett Clerk of the Board Publish June 7 14.

Funeral rites held last Thursday for Dave Johnson aged 62 in Finedals adfiedating. Johnson born March 17 1874 west of Split Rock Wyoming territory, lived in Green River valley, bought Vickrey place, later Thyson race on New Fork. Survived by wife Maggie two children Pat Johnson and Berneice Hull, sister Louise Snively, brother William Johnson, eight grandchildren. interment in Pinedale cemetery.
Lela Gurney will attend Girls State in Laramie and aims for governor. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Crow returned from California after attending Mrs. Glows mother’s funeral. Lions club president Victor McGoons attended the State convention in Evanston June 3 5. Marie Farrell and sister Helen Atwood moved to a new home. George Earp family moved into living quarters behind the drug store. Spring Surine ceremonial attendees in Rawlins included James Mickelson Gordon Mickelson Kenneth Guio Danny Budd Jim Greenwood Dan Budd and Bobby Miller. two Tatters were Novice candidates. Harrison Guio came from Los Angeles to spend the summer at Osterout ranch. They visited Lava Lot Springs to pick up Sadie Osterhout and Pat Larson. A reception and flowership (flowship) put Jack supper is planned at the Community church Sunday at 5 00 pm June 16 for John Thomston marking his 15 month pastorate. Norman Barlow president of the association urged moving toward an agriculture “award of the state” as delegates to the Wyoming Stock Growers annual meeting in Rawlins discussed farm problem causes. He argued government price supports distort markets and favored supply and demand as the price guide while criticizing federally dominated agriculture and urging better advertising to raise cattle consumption and prices.

LARAMIE The American Chemical Society committee on professional training announced that the University of Wyoming's department of chemistry has been placed on the approved list of colleges and universities offering training in chemistry.
Students majoring in chemistry who meet minimum professional training requirements set by the Society may join as senior members within two years after graduation and after two years of field experience. Approved department listings are reviewed at every committee meeting and not granted for a fixed period.
Clark, professor of English at the University of Wisconsin, author and editor, will teach in the University of Wyoming American Studies program in the first summer term. He arrives in early June and will lead a special course titled Roots of American Ideas, plus a series of weekly lectures open to summer students and visitors.
Colonel Arthur E. Boudreau of the United States Air Force Academy will address The American Legion Wyoming Department Convention in Cody, June 21 to 23. He will speak at 2 p.m. Friday, June 22. Boudreau has 12 years active duty, helped select 159 colleges for the Air Force College Training Program, and led the project establishing the Air Academy. He is a Norwich University graduate with a Boston University master’s degree and study at Harvard in educational administration and advanced sciences.
Bruce Thomson, son of U S Representative and Mrs Keith Thomson, earned praise for his role in The Remarkable Mr Pennypacker in Washington D C The Temple Players produced the popular comedy under Rudolph Tisgleee The Maryland University instructor Bruce previously appeared with a Pulitzer cast in The Saints of Bleecker Street and has trained with Children's Studios
Norbert Falls Wyoming state game warden warns fishermen picnickers and others not to molest young game animals. Mothers are often nearby feeding so the young are not abandoned. Taking young animals as pets is illegal and may prevent return to the mother. Captivity also makes the animal unsafe and useless as wildlife.

The Wyoming State Home Demonstration Council will meet June 12 to 14 at the University of Wyoming Agricultural Building with about 125 delegates from 23 counties. The program includes talks on Home Demonstration Work, Health and Safety, Civil Defense, workshops, and an informal dinner with a style show. The Family Life conference follows, led by Dr and Mrs Ernest Osborne, opening at 1 pm June 14 and closing Friday afternoon June 15.
Omaha market reports show cattle steady to 26 cents lower amid abundant receipts. Steers and yearlings sold around 21 to 22 with loads at 21.50 and 22. Heavy steers near 20.50, plain killers down to 14. Cows firm to 25 cents higher, canners 9.25 to 10.75, Bert cows to 13 and helpers to 15.25. Hog market mostly 25 cents lower. sows 1250 to 916.35. Lambs erratic. Spring lambs steady near 23 to 26.50, old crop lambs 20.25 to 22, ewes steady at 3 to 4.95.
The annual Sublette County Red Cross meeting will be held in Pinedale at the Courthouse on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. The purpose is to elect officers, all to be chosen from the Pinedale district.
