The second annual Junior Rodeo sponsored by Sublette County Roping Club will be held Sunday June 12 1955 at the Rodeo grounds in Big Piney Wyoming. Events include calf roping bull riding bareback bronc riding and saddle bronc riding with an under 21 age limit.
General Petroleum reports activity in Wyoming with notes on Green River drilling at Buckhorning 62-4 and Tip Top units. Entries reference survey work, hole drilling, and logging efforts in various sections and townships as part of prospecting and lease operations.
The June 2 1955 wedding of Querida Ellen Lewis and Robert Dallas Hicks was held at the American Legion Hall Big Piney with a double ring ceremony at 11 am performed by Walter Nose Jr of the LDS church. Attendants included Barbara Olson Barbara Lewis and Ralph Manning as best man. The reception followed with a three tier cake yellow and white decor and a honeymoon to follow. Out of town relatives from Ogden Utah attended.
The Second Annual Junior Rodeo sponsored by Sub.et. County Ropers Club at Pinedale grounds on Sunday drew a perfect day crowd. Winners include Corky Lozier first in saddle bronc, Billy Bloom first bareback, Terry Jensen won calf roping, Kenny Fear topped cow milking, and Corky Facinelli won bull riding. Queen Sharon Lemire presided. judges were Harvey Ston and Benny Pearson. Next event set for Big Piney on June 12.
At a special Kemmerer Bethel Jobs Daughter meeting in the Masonic hall officers were installed after the Book of Gold ceremony. Honored Queen Glenna Reed led a list of officers and area girls attended, with a banquet served in the Kemmerer Hotel before a trip to Douglas for conferring the Majority Degrees.
We thank the Fire Department and all others for helping to put out the fire in our home last Thursday. Everything was greatly appreciated by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bray and Gorton.
