Wyoming Range and Livestock Report June drought eased by rains
The June three weeks were the driest since 1879 with extreme east temps 40 to 12 degrees above normal and high winds drying surface moisture. Late June and early July rains revived grasses, improved summer and fall feed, and greened pastures while range feed fell 8 points to 82 on July 1. Cattle and calves dropped, sheep and lambs held steady, with better conditions in the southwest quarter and strong late rains boosting prospects for livestock.
