Local Hero Jake Near Severely Cuts Hand Fighting Fire
Jake Near sustained a deep hand cut while fighting a fire on Tuesday night and was flown to Salt Lake City for specialist treatment. He is visiting the area with Mr. and Mrs. Norman Steidel and family from St. Joseph, Missouri, who were guests at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Youngstrom and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Phillips until Saturday morning of last week. Steidel is a nephew of Mrs. Youngstrom and a cousin of Mrs. Phillips.
