Tie Camp Moving Out to Smith's Fork
The tie camp of the Standard Timber Co in Cottonwood district moves to Smith's Fork east of Evanston where they previously operated. Difficulties with the Forest Department prevented timber sale on Horse creek, prompting the relocation. most workers have left, with provisions and tools to be trucked soon. A spring drive will relocate remaining ties from the camp and creek banks, as 350000 ties cut last winter could not be driven this spring due to low water.
