Patricia Meeks and John Kelly Unite in Cheyenne Wedding

Patricia Meeks and John Kelly were married at St Anne Church in Cheyenne on Saturday July 15. The couple, both of Cheyenne, celebrated with a reception at the American Legion Hall. The bride wore a silk organza gown with lace details and a Juliet cap veil. Attendants wore aqua blue dresses. vows were performed by Rev Charkee Bartek and the couple planned a honeymoon to Washington and the Pacific coast. Relatives from Utah, Montana, Oregon, and Wyoming attended.

Gurney Engagement Set for Lela Lee to David Sanders

Mr and Mrs Marshall Be Gurney of Big Piney announce the engagement of their daughter Lela Lee to David M Sanders of Big Piney. The bride is a Basin High School graduate who studied at the University of Wyoming and works at the State Bank. The groom is a Basin High School graduate employed by the Roden Dealing Company. The couple plans to marry August 19 1962.

County drought committee meets to review dry conditions

The county drought committee met on July 18 to assess Sublet County drought. Members include Max Borof, Lester Pape, Delbert Bail, County Agent Carl Arbigsit, IA supervisor Glyde Teague and Woodrow Nelson, secretary. Urbigkit reported near normal hay shortages, with severe dryness in southwest and Big Piney areas threatening pastures. Action to seek drought aid until September and possible designation as drought area could allow purchase of surplus grains at reduced prices.

Hereford breeders meet in Inokoville for fall sale planning

Western Wyoming bulls tested in Cokeville with plans for October 13 at the Kommerce sale barn. Attendees include Sublette County agent Carl Urbigkit Joe Budd Frank Pear and Bob O’Neil with Urbigkit as salesman. Al Sager to auction with Ure sale and AG innovation. Spectators to judge weight and gain with Mrs. Patricia Meeks of Cheyenne. The groom’s father resides in Kentucky and was unable to attend the wedding. Fils mother is deceased. Young Kelly moved from Ira job as installations engineer at the Missile Base in Cheyenne to Los Angeles.

Mrs H Madison Recovers From Triple Heart Operation

Mrs Howard Madison is recovering from a triple heart operation at LIDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. The surgery occurred Tuesday morning July 18 1961 after 28 blood transfusions. Mr Madison works at the El Paso plant and three El Paso planes flew donors to Salt Lake City. Dr Jonason of Pinedale typed the donors blood as a courtesy to the Madison family. All send hearty greetings to Mary Lou Madison.

Vacation Bible School Opens At Southern Baptist Church

Vacation Bible School begins July 24 at the first Southern Baptist Church Monnay, running daily from 9 to 12 noon through August 4. Open to boys and girls ages 4 to 17. Parent program Friday August 4. An 18 man Revival July 26 through 30 features guest speaker John Miles of Thomaston Ga each evening at 7 45. Public invited.

Tomassi Buys Yearsley Store and Hotel in Wake of Purchase

Mr and Mrs Licus Tomessi have bought the Yearsley store and hotel from Mr and Mrs Prank earsley and will operate the business. They plan gas merchandising and meat trade ventures while offering first class hotel service to patrons and the public.

South Lincoln Hospital Dedication Marks New Era

The community celebrates the dedication of South Lincoln Hospital a modern facility with a laboratory X Ray room and new equipment including an $8000 220 MA General Electric unit and a sterile ground floor. The move reflected three years of district effort culminating in a June dedication with state officials lauding the project and residents urged to use the new hospital for medical needs.

Fackrell Family Called to Evanston for Illness

State Sublette County Leads Savings Bond Sales

Sublette County Bonds Chairman John Mackey announced county sales reached 39,495.00 of the state's total while statewide first six months sales stood at 6,232,006.50. He compared this to 4,227,509.06 for the same period last year as volunteers are honored in July for their role in the bond program.
