Funeral rites for Fred Eklund of Pinedale held in Finedale
Funeral services were held for 74 year old Fred Eklund of Pinedale who died after a heart attack. Burial followed in Pinedale cemetery. Eklund born in Jonkoping Sweden came to Sublette county in 1913 owning Hart ranch then Fayette ranch until retiring last year. Survivors include wife Helen a half brother John Alvin of Wyoming half sister Ruth Johnson of Cheyenne a sister Ettee Nelson of Spokane two grandchildren Dorothy Eklund and Frederick L. Eklund and two great grandchildren Jim my and Gennes Anderson of Salt Lake City.

Extension horticulturist Ayres to start July 1 in Laramie
Lloyd Charles Ayres, named Extension horticulturist forester, begins work July 1 per G H Star director of the Agricultural Extension Service. He replaces retiree W Q Edmundson and comes from South Dakota State College where he served since 1959 as Extension horticulturist. Ayres previously worked as a U S Fish and Wildlife Service biologist in Pierre S D from 1949 to 1951 and held posts at South Dakota State College. He holds a Master’s in Botany 1963 and a B S in Plant Science from SDAC. He attended Arkansas A M College Monticello in 1943-44.
