Twentieth Century Club Meeting in Piney Wyoming 1915

The Twentieth Century club met with Mrs. Tamner on Thursday in January. A dainty dinner and elegant silverware were enjoyed. Mrs. O Neil won the first prize in a guessing contest, with Mrs. Osterhout earning the booby prize. Attending were Meadams Berger O Neil Fisher Osterhout Morrison Nickelson Lowe L Budd M Budd Dempsey J Budd and spouses. Mr. and Mrs. Tanner hosted with daughters Ursula and Lydia assisting. Jack Davis and Law rence Ross left for Star Valley on forest service business and will return with Supervisor Beam in mid February to spend time in the Valley and count cattle.

Pioneers and Local News From Fontenelle to Big Piney

Items note Miss Charlotte Jenkins returning from Ogden Utah and a pioneer considering lower altitude for health. C F Fish faints multiple times at home and doctors say moving to a lower altitude is the only hope. Robert Hill visits Daniel to handle merchants business while Harry Danielson works cattle for the Daniel association. Joe Fredell recovers after fainting episodes in a hotel kitchen. John Bolinger and Frank Burney hunt wolves spurred by stockmen bounty. Telephone service planned to Sni der Basin Star Valley and Idaho areas for fire protection with a direct line to the Basin. Mr and Mrs P W Conwell visit Merna and plan to move to Big Piney. Edward EB Daiber moves to join George Ross ranch with Horeig as partner.

Citizens Protest Lincoln County Division Plan

On Monday a large turnout in Big Piney and Marbleton gathered at the Examiner office to oppose a proposed Lincoln County division bill. Organizers plan petitions among local taxpayers to defeat the division along the line that would cut the county at Midway, with signers pledging no fixed stance beyond the outlined proposal.

Bids Issued for Mail Service From Daniel to Merna Open Again

Bids mailed to the government for the Daniel to Merna mail route and return have been ignored. A new bid call is expected soon. Mr and Mrs George Ross and daughters are visiting Big Piney. The Ladies Club hosted an event at Big Piney hall with cards and dancing and a midnight luncheon. Due to a death Marbleton will skip the dance on the 29th. A February 12 Budd Hall dance celebrates Lincoln's birthday and Valentine Day with Cupid. A lost child’s item notes a rear Examiner office listing.

Should Old Acquaintance Be Forgotten at Three Bar Ranch

A Dig Piney Card Club gathering hosted by Miss Emma Ross at the Three Bar ranch featured games of Five Hundred, prizes for Miss Bailey and Mr Young, a lavish luncheon, and a night of dancing and fortune telling. Attendees included Mrs Merger and Misses Hallet Batley ONeill Tanner Osterhout Weser Guyette Nersiy Trittipo and Young. The event ended at dawn with guests traveling back to Big Viney and memories lasting for years.

James Black Plans Large Barn Project With Stalls and Bunkhouse

James Black recently bought fou tots from F. D. Chapel and will erect a 100 by 100 feet square barn with 14 foot sheds around a 72 feet square corral. A 14 by 30 bunkhouse will be built at one corner to meet needs. A. F. Atwacoc holds the contract and work starts immediately. Other enterprises may follow.

Cadillac Eight Chosen as Exposition Official Car

The Cadillac eight cylinder has been made the official car of the Panama California Exposition at San Diego. Three Cadillacs, two seven passenger touring cars and one seven passenger limousine, ordered by EF A Davidson, will be used by the executive committee. They will be delivered through the Los Angeles house of Don Lee. Two Cadillacs have been purchased for the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. Ambulance bodies will be mounted on the chassis for on grounds care.

Charley Walker Dies in Timber Accident

Charles Walker Jr. was fatally injured when a tree fell on him while working in the timber at Snider Basin. Dr. Hallinan arrived too late. the body is being taken to Marbleton. He was about twenty one, son of C A Walker, with a mother, father and two sisters remaining.

Boulder Items Commerce and travel cross Boulder week

In Boulder activity spans freight moves and shopping. George Baldwin bills the Cora store while Joe Winn ships freight toward Rock Spring. Kay Cantlin and wife shopped in Boulder. Arthur Faler plans to stock hay and hay bales arrive last week.

Found Luger Pistol Recovered. Owner Sought At Office

A Luger pistol found is held by the office awaiting the owner for claims. Interested parties must inquire at this office and pay required notice costs to recover the firearm.

Tanner Family Plans Upcoming Moves and Family Visit

Mr and Mrs L D Tanner prepare to travel for Ops Sunday with Mrs Tanner set to depart for her former home in Muwjuker. She will visit her parents Mr and Mrs W Woe and pay a visit to them during the trip.
