VA Benefits Checks Now Forwarded With Address Changes
Veterans Administration and the Post Office Department announce checks will be forwarded only when beneficiaries file regular change of address notices with local post offices. Public Law 85-171 allows this changed process effective January 1, 1958, ending the prior forwarding ban since 1912 for VA checks. Beneficiaries are urged to notify VA of address changes to avoid misdelivery or loss.
