Pro Football Faces a Split and Growth Challenge
A veteran observer argues four years of war have cleared debris in pro football but big work remains. He envisions two separate leagues with distinct presidents, cites Los Angeles and San Francisco as strong markets, and notes 13 current owners must add three teams to reach 16. He praises Luckman, Baugh, Hutson, and other legends and predicts coaching careers for stars as the sport gains stability and rivalries akin to baseball’s.
