Bridger National Forest Grazing Permits Reported
The Bridger National Forest logged 290 permittees grazing 52182 cattle and sheep on nearly acres as grazing season nears 1950. Forest Supervisor W W Dresskell notes many permits issued for homer time nets while permittees seek range improvements. Grazing varies from two to four months with 168 range stations assessed for access and fees. Forage quality was poor due to drought with heavy lamb and beef production. seed planting trials will determine future cover crops and seeding plans.

Success Story Of The Month Catherine Kelly Of Seattle
Catherine Kelly born with palsy overcomes disability with her mother’s help to earn a BA and a master’s degree and gain Phi Beta Kappa status. The Donnellys receive the “Who’s Crippled” citation at a Seattle Easter Seal luncheon for determined living, writing, and community effort. Catherine’s mother, a nurse, aided lectures and transcripts as Catherine studied, wrote plays, and published work while partially paralyzed and speech impaired.

Last Rites Held For Mickey Hicks
Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational church for James Wilson Mickey Hicks born September 3 1815 in Mountainview Wyoming and died December 24 in Norwalk California aged 55. He served in the Air Corps from 1942 to 1946 with overseas time in the Hurencan theater. He married Janith Holden in Bowlder Cols October 25 1987 and later separated. Memorials included music by Stella Nelson Bernetta and Valeria Nelson with piano accompaniment. The obituary lists surviv ors including his wife his mother and siblings and credits the American Legion and local pallbearers at the cemetery Mortuary arranged the funeral.
