Anton Subic Sr Rites Today Held in Big Piney
Anton Subic Sr died from a self inflicted gunshot wound amid ill health concerns. He ran the Big Piney Blacksmith shop and was beloved in the community. Survived by Theresa his wife two daughters a son seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Born June 9 1888 in Jugoslavia he came to the United States in 1909 and to Enz Paney in 1914. Funeral services were at St Annes Catholic Church with burial at Ely Tiney cemetery. Tanner Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

At a den meeting of Dens 22 and 222 last Thursday the Cub Scouts celebrated birthdays in January and February. Injured in Calpet Highway Crash
Robert Shinsel, 21, of Calpet, lost control on the Calpet Secondary Highway on Jan 21 at about 11 50 pm. Dragged from the car as it slid, he sustained two broken arms and legs, a broken hip, and severe head injuries. Transported to Salt Lake City for care. Patrolmen Bill Sintek and Bd Mathison investigated.

Patrick Ross Meeks son of Mr and Mrs Ross Meeks of Big Piney died Saturday January 24 1961 after a long illness. Born July 27 1939 in Jackson Wyoming he lay in rest at Big Piney Cemetery after services at the Big Piney Community hall officiated by Rev RawlesDenson. Relatives and friends attended and pallbearers were cousins. Survived by his parents a sister and brother in law and numerous relatives. Several out of town relatives attended the observances from Oregon Washington Montana and Wyoming.

The Bridger National Forest held its four day ranger s meeting in Kemmerer Wyoming January 24 to 27 190?. The theme was multiple use management with training in range management land survey and planning. Regional Office Ogden Utah staff led sessions as rangers assistants forest engineers discussed issues in multiple use management. Forest Supervisor Art Bueckingham reports the meeting was very successful and productive.
