The Sears Roe Buck Apicultural Foundation notes rabbit raising as a lucrative venture due to rising fur demand. Annual U S rabbit skin use reaches about 190 million, with 8 percent imported. Prolific does yield 4 to 25 kits yearly, and various breeds such as Chinchilla and New Zealand White predominate.
