Red Cross appeals for five million to aid wartorn Hung ary refugees

A telegram to large chapters urges a five million dollar fundraising drive to aid refugees from Hungary and Aust ria. The message notes 83,000 plus refugees crossing the border daily and calls on communities nationwide to fund food medical supplies clothing and other essentials while the Red Cross coordinates deliveries with international partners. Interschool Concert Held in Pinedale Last Week End

An interschool concert took place in Pinedale over the last weekend, featuring choirs and bands from Weadfain Javikeon Cokeville Evanston Big Nrey Leman and Pinedale. Clinicas were Carl Melander vocal and Wayman Walker band, both from Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley. Participants from Biz included Bind-Detty Budd Lyle Gurney and Leeetta Diebler with Lela Gurney Kathy Lambert on clarinets and Cornets Edith Lomax Perbara Lewis Jackie Mechame and Sandra Meintz in the chemistry group.

Big Piney Names 1956 57 Basketball Squad

The Big Piney basketball team lists two seniors Bob Tanner and Gary Thomson. Senior players include Tanner, Thomson, Frank Feet out due to illness, juniors led by Mike Albee, sophomores Gordon Bray and Bill Bell vying for starting roles, senior Dave Vickrey advancing, Ed Daniels a defensive start, with freshmen Bob Wilson and Lanny Perkins showing promise. The season opens December 11 against Eden Valley High School with a junior varsity game at 6 45.

Charles Davis Wedding Anniversary Celebration at Fleishman Home

Mr and Mrs Charles Davis were surprised at the Fleishman home on Friday evening to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Hosts Mr and Mrs Paul Virochiko and Mr and Mrs Frank Fleishman arranged a sermpturus hata dinner with trimmings. Kenneth Guto and others helped celebrate as Chuck and Ava received gifts and well wishes for more years of bliss.

Calfhood Vaccination Program Under Way in Sublette County

The Wyoming Stock and Sanitary Board with the U S Department of Agriculture continues the calfhood vaccination program. Dr Bert Reinow leads operations in Sublette County with vaccines supplied by state and federal agencies and veterinarians paid by the same entities. Vaccinations must be completed by February end to allow a second round in Marsh. calves aged 4 to 2 months are eligible and will be vaccinated in the spring if not ready now.

Oil Well Driller Dies on Way to Hospital

Allen Gay Johnson, 58, of the Tanner Trailer Court, a driller for Laughlin Brot­kers Drilling Co., died of a heart attack Monday evening on the way to Kemmerer’s hospital. His body was shipped to El Reno, Oklahoma for burial.
