John R Arnold announces his candidacy for the non partisan District Judge nomination in the Third Judicial District. Appointed by the Governor after the death of David H Craig he has served since July 27 1915 and seeks a full term to continue fair impartial duties for Evanston Wyoming.
A candidate announces for the district court nomination in Sweetwater Uinta and Lincoln Counties. The notice explains non partisan primary rules under Chapter 74 1915 and lists Arnold Christmas and Preston as ballot options. Douglas A Preston urges voters to evaluate qualifications after 37 years in law including 29 in this state and five as Attorney General.
LaBarge residents recount events at Mountain Meadow and Viola including celebrations for B M Fox turning 47 and a large Twichel hosted party. Guests enjoyed cards, dancing, piano music, elaborate lunch and floral decorations, with speeches praised as masterful. Community members and neighbors attended from Guyette, Nye, Stucky and others. J M Eckart of Boise was reported dead, a shock to local friends.
Notice from the Department of the Interior Land Office Evanston Wyoming dated July 20 1916 states Earl J Hamilton assignee of Oscar Charleston of Big Piney Wyoming filed notice of intention to make final proof for Desert Land Entry No 03154 in Section 13 Township 29 North Range 112 West Sixth Principal Meridian. The final proof will be before James L Fleming U S Commissioner at Big Piney Wyoming on September 30 1916. Witnesses named are George Millige Walter Yose Myron Mills and Al McNeil all of Big Piney Wyoming.
Oliver M Twichel of Viola Lincoln County Wyoming filed a coal entry application serial number 04958 on June 24 1916 for SE NE and NEW SEY of section 32 township 27 north range 118 west sixth principal meridian. Adverse claimants or any objectors must file affidavits of protest within thirty days after first publication. Joalo Alex Nisbet Register.
Notice from the Department of the Interior General Land Office dated July 26 1916 outlines restoration to settlement and entry for lands excluded from the Teton National Forest Wyoming by proclamation June 30 1916. It specifies dates and hours for settlement and entry starting September 1 1916 and September 29 1916, locations in Evanston Wyoming, and detailed land descriptions by township range and section with numerous withdrawals and restrictions. The notice warns trespass penalties for unlawful settlement and explains preference rights and examination of unsurveyed lands.
