Weekly notes report fishing at Middle Piney and haying around James, Curtis, and Mickelson upper ranch. Town visits by Geo. Ross, Stanley Murdock, Judge Gilkey, Green Hunt, plus board of county commissioners meeting news. Dropped items include stage auto repair, frame cottage plans, repress machine, print shop, and local trades.
Frank Chapel and Al Payne of Opal plan to buy the Heité property and form a partnership to operate a business. They intend to build a brick hotel immediately, signaling a modernization push for the town. Also noted are local movements of Mrs. Joe Fredell who returned from Salt Lake City, Lew Hennick arranging hay and travel plans, and a brief mention of baled hay at MacGlashans.
Midway Messrs Dryer and Booker made a wip to Piney this week. Dan Harrison made a wip to Beaver on business. A number of horses in this vicinity have the distemper. Mr Guthrie and son Fred are helping P Conwell of Horse Creek with his hay. Mr Booker and family went to Soda Lake fishing. Marie Guthrie is helping Mr Webb in haying. Married At the home of the bride s father Miss Hattie Haley and Frank Johnson August 1 at 5 pm by Rev Reese of Pinedale just the near relatives attending. Both young people having been brought up in this neighborhood are favorable known. We wish them success in their new life. C P MacGlashan has baled As Hileman has returned Jackson where he captured a he went after. He is now loking for another field to conquer at Kemmerer. A race is mated to take place there in the near future. H Kelley of Daniel was down to meet Mia Kelley and the children who are returning from St Louis where the young daughter has been under treatment in hospital at that point. We are glad to be able to report that the child is much improved.
Imma Ross offers piano lessons in Piney with classes every Tuesday and Friday in Budd's hall ladies room. A Boise Idaho Conservatory graduate and accomplished musician, she encourages both boys and girls to join.
