Dee Fox Reported Killed in Pacific War Zone
Dee Fox of the Army Air Corps son of Mr and Mrs Rube Fox was reported killed somewhere in the Pacific two years after entering service. He would be the first from the area to lose his life in World War I and leaves two sisters and a grandmother in Ogden Utah as mourners.

Sublette County Budget Hearing Adopts 1946 Fiscal Plan
County Commissioners of Sublette County Wyoming convened on July 23 1945 and July 24 1945 to adopt the official county budget for the year ending June 30 1946 following a public hearing notice in the Big Piney Examiner. The meeting minutes show no protests and the budget was revised and approved with specified General Fund allocations for departments including County Clerk Sheriff and others. Chairman Carroll R Nobles and Commissioners James Jensen and James F Mickelson signed the appropriation resolution with County Clerk Helen Atwood attesting.

Big Piney Couple Weds in Kemmerer Methodist Ceremony
Miss LaVerne Rose and Harman Whitman both of Big Piney married Saturday evening July 21 at Kemmerer Methodist church. Rev. Royal J. Myers officiated. Bride wore a dark blue dress with white accessories and a corsage. father J. E. Rose gave the bride in marriage. Following the ceremony the couple were honored at a reception and dinner at the Rose home. Additional guests included Ivy Lou Rose and Bert Rose family, Patsy Lee, and Mr. and Mrs. Whitman of Bre Piney.
