Benjamin Hubbard Smalley Jr. aged 31 assistant superintendent of the state fish hatchery at Tensleep died of diabetes at a Salt Lake hospital. He was slated to become superintendent of the Daniel hatchery May 1 and will be buried in Cokeville Wyoming. Smalley was well known among Wyoming sportsmen and skilled in fish culture work.

Wyoming's game and fish commission moves to buy a 1335 acre Sand Creek tract in Crook County for about 20000 to establish a public fishing area. Attorney General Ewing T. Kerr says a mortgage redemption by Rapid City interests cleared the deal, allowing a final price about 6000 less than first estimated.
