Phil Saxon of Evanston is in the Valley seeking a rand location and visited Privy and Pinedale.
Lee Hopkins of Marbleton died Wednesday night at the Marbleton hotel after a severe illness from typhoid pneumonia. He had been sick in Lava Hot Springs, returned home when funds ran out, and never recovered. Funeral services are planned for Friday morning.
Bondurant residents attended a surprise dance at Dave Hicks home Friday night. John Rotha and Wim Kendy journeyed to Granite country seeking wolves. Helen Wilhelm hosted pleasant calls, while Dave Riling returned from Idaho to resume ranch work. Frank Wilhelm lost a yearling steer and Frank VanVieck plans a drift fence this spring. VanVieck is sawing summer wood and Frank Hanson prepares building material. Parcel post shipments arrived on the 20th as a mail carrier used dog teams in a first successful trip with three dogs.

The Green River Valley Good Roads association meets Saturday May 5 at 8 o clock in the town hall Piney. Visitors include CG Y Phillips of Bronx. Local items report road work, auto travel tests, a rifle club meeting, card party results, a birthday party, and community notes from Big Piney and nearby towns.
The notice lists Sunday worship with Holy Communion and prayers, evening sermon with a history resume on the flag, and Tuesday May feast of Philip and James. Also Holy Eucharist at 7:30 a.m. Devotions May 3 and Cross invention observance with 8:00 p.m. worship. Guild meets at Mrs Everett Smith home on Thursday May 8 and Junior Guild at Doris MacGlashan’s home this Saturday afternoon.
The Congregational Church schedule for April 29 1917 lists Sunday school at 10 morning prayers at 11 and evening services at 7 45 with Marbleton services at 2 30 for Sunday school and 3 30 preaching led by Rev George F Wenrich. Public notice reports James I Black removed as Deputy Sheriff at Big Piney and Everett Smith appointed as regular Deputy Sheriff at Big Piney per Sheriff J B McMinn.
The Junior Guild met at Grace McAvoy’s house on a Saturday the 21st to plan church work at the organist’s home in Lararaie. Officers elected for the term include Martha Jenkins president Doris MacGlashan secretary Grace McAvoy treasurer and Martha Whitman corresponding secretary. Ethel Huddleson Ruth and Mary O’Neil attended as guests and a lunch prepared by the hostess’s mother followed. The group will meet again next week at Doris MacGlashan’s home.
H Lawrence Thackwell civil engineer of Marbleton returns from Philadelphia where he consulted for an Eastern firm on hydro plants. He received an offer to lead a Nicaragua hydro project but remains in the Green River Valley to continue services for the Uint a County Irrigation Co. The Examiner notes Bar 12 cattle and 320 acres of Mason land sold by Ed Rowe to Tar Rathbun. cattle brought about $60 and land at $20 per acre. Big Piney Meat Market advertises fresh pork products.
