Livestock Shipments From Wyoming Reach 1929 Milestones
Wyoming livestock exports reached about 35 million dollars in 1929, with 8,346 cattle cars, 6,037 sheep double-deckers, 486 horses and 1,022 hog cars. Cattle shipments rose since 1926, while sheep and hogs showed steady gains and prices reflected strong market demand from the west coast and mid continent. Horses moved out as a costly byproduct, though feed costs cut net value, and winter weather supported good flesh with light losses.
