Intra mural boxing tourney yields crowd pleasing finals
Twenty two exhibition bouts opened the intramural boxing meet with matches featuring Roger and Elza Decker, Chip Hicks, Jerry Hale, and Dennis Hacklin among top contenders. Awards and two theatre tickets will be presented to participants, led by middleweight winner Elza Decker and lightweight victor Freddie Gurney.

American Legion Auxiliary Plans April Ca nasta Tournament
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 78 met at Reta Carr's home with seven members. They planned a Ca nasta tournament starting April 12 for four weeks with junior and senior groups, refreshments, and prizes. They voted to donate $5 to the Cancer Drive and $5 to the Leonard Wood Memorial, discussed a poppy display window to aid sewing for disabled veterans, and noted an upcoming Round Robin in the community.

Speech Festival in Laramie Draws 235 Students
About 235 Wyoming high school students from 25 schools attend the University of Wyoming eleventh annual Speech Festival in Laramie to present plays, discussions, and readings analyzed from superior to fair. The University Theatre will stage Blithe Spirit. Miss University of Wyoming contest entries rose to eleven with several from Cheyenne and Sheridan, offering a $300 scholarship and opportunities to advance to Miss America.

Moose transplant moves eight Wyoming moose west to Buffalo area

Mrs. Mary A. Murdock and Mrs. May Sommers returned from their southern vacation last Sunday. They visited Charleston South Carolina with Mrs. Charles Johnson, daughter of Major Bob Calvary, formerly a deputy sheriff of Uinta County. They then spent two days in Chattanooga Tennessee visiting sites including Chickamauga Battlefield and the National Cemetery Lookout Mountain where the Battle Above the Clouds occurred. Mrs. Sommers reportedly spent months in federal prison.

Wilson Baldwin 39 of Pioche Nevada died March 25 1950 after a lingering illness. He was born August 23 1910 at Big Piney to Steve and Dorthea Baldwin. He married Goldie McKie in 1925 and left four daughters Marlene Shelia Treva Judy and a son Keith. Funeral held March 28 in Proche Ward Chapel with local and visiting mourners listed. He is survived by his parents brothers and sisters. Funeral details and attendees noted.

Sublette Chapter reports initiation and officer elections
Last Friday March 31 the initiation of Chapter Farmers in this Sublette chapter was held. Greenbands were raised to Chapter Farmer, with members Charles Sims Frank Bray Bob Noble and Jerry Farmer. Officers elected Monday April 3 include Bruce Jones president Jerry Hite vice president Jerry Farmer secretary Neal Jones Treaver and Frank Bray Sentinel. The chapter sends officers and two delegates to the state F F A convention in Gasner on April 6 Elza Decker and John Tanner will be delegates Bobby Olson substitutes for Neal Jones. Fat cattle and hog markets at Omaha posted mixed results with steady to higher trend and strong hog prices despite no government supports for first time in eight years.
