Newly Organized State Automobile Association Formed in Wyoming

Casper Wyoming The Wyoming State Automobile Association was formed at a Friday banquet at the Gladstone hotel with leaders from Casper and other towns. It aims to unite motorists clubs and business interests to promote Wyoming’s scenic climate and recreational assets and to build statewide support for member services. Officers named include Carl Stark president W H J Bowey vice president and Ed Ewel secretary treasurer. A six district board will oversee operations with Caspar members on an executive committee until the first annual meeting. Life memberships 100 dollars business 25 dollars individuals 12 dollars annually.

Hereford Family Responds to Death in Wyoming

George Hereford and daughter Jessie left Monday for Lonetree Wyoming in response to a message announcing the death of Eugene Hickey a wealthy cattleman and rancher in that area and brother in law of Hereford. Hickey died after a long illness and had recently been taken to a Salt Lake City hospital for treatment.

Easter Happenings and Travel in Daniel Area

Easter services were enjoyed by many in Daniel. Residents hosted visits and dinners, including a five course Easter meal with daffodils and chicks. Local meetings, social events, and travel to Pinedale and Kemmerer filled the week, with a fatal shooting at Adney ranch noted and a funeral planned in Daniel.

Faculty Play Tops Season at Clyde Hall in Big Piney

The Big Piney school faculty staged a three act comedy Step On It Stan at Clyde Hall last Saturday night. Despite one cast gap, the performance drew a large enthusiastic audience and the vaudeville stunts between acts added to the evening. Proceeds aided the high school basketball team’s trip to Laramie.

1929 High School Week receipts drop at University of Wyoming

Receipts for the 1929 High School Week at the University of Wyoming totaled 6750.40, down from 9245.85 last year, with causes including a one game elimination format and poorer road conditions preventing neighboring-town boosters from attending. academic receipts barely changed, totaling 77.85 versus 76.40. Andrew Homer of Salt Lake City visited his ranch and cattle as roads improve, while his family mourns the death of Wilbur Homer from spinal meningitis in Salt Lake and was laid to rest in Ogden. Easter service at Community church drew the largest crowd yet, with all seats filled and praise for Reverend Hest. North and South Piney creeks run high, bridges jammed by ice, necessitating dynamite clearance at the North Piney bridge. Charley Noble returned from Lava Hot Springs for ranch duties. Big Piney High School hosts an athletic carnival at Clyde hall with boxing and wrestling. Lost house key reported at Clyde hall or on the street. The local Masons bought Calpet Clubhouse furniture from Texas Oil Co for the new Masonic hall.
