Grand Teton National Park to See $150000 Lodge Development

Prominent business leaders plan a multi month investment of about $150000 to develop first class hotel lodge and camp facilities in Grand Teton National Park. Moran Wyoming will serve as operations hub with a modernized town, expanded transport and new tourist cabins and campsites at Jenny Lake. The Teton Investment Co directs the plan with Moran as base and M F Daim as general manager guiding park cooperation with federal trails and wilderness designations. Government funds are earmarked for park trail construction and roads to connect with Yellowstone and regional highways.

Wyoming Livestock Condition Improves in February Report

The Wyoming Cooperative Crop and Livestock Reporting Service notes ideal February weather boosted range conditions across northeast east and southeast. Statewide March 1 condition reached 90 percent of normal for cattle and 90 percent for sheep with ranges feeding tight yet hay supplies ample as farmers plan for spring feeding and ongoing stock gains.

Daniel Doings My Clyde Robbins of Metna was in town Friday. Fred Bolinger came from Thames Sawmill. Court Johnson stopped Friday night then left on the south stage Saturday. George Booker visited Saturday and Sunday and headed to Bondurant to see his brother Noah. The Meyers and Kellys drove to Kemmerer Saturday. Blackmon and son Dean joined dinner with Jewetts Sunday. Blackmon returned Tuesday morning. Homer and Bernie Payne attended a Fastern Star dance in Pinedale Saturday night. Mack V Smith and son visited Wertz Thursday. Conwell returned after winter in Laramie. Mrs Huston and Hayden returned Tuesday from a two week visit in Iowa.

Gold mine near Silver Lake fuels California visit

Jones Lindly returns from Silver Lake California reporting an A-ll gold mine operated by L Z Bess and John Herrod with ore assays from 7 to 700 dollars per ton. Bess plans to return May 1 and Bob Childers installs a Dempster water well rig to drill new wells in town and surrounding areas.

Census Enumerators Begin 1930 Sublette County Count

The 1930 Decennial Census starts in Sublette County on April 2 with 125 000 enumerators. Lee E Cooper Julian Clark Clyde Glasgow and William R Malonek will survey all sections gathering data on population agriculture unemployment and irrigation. Supervisor Lester G Baker notes a preliminary population count after Big Piney is completed and William E Baehr joins the office to oversee irrigation across five counties. Percy Leroux and W S Nichels traveled to Kemmerer on business Wednesday afternoon.

Fedrizzi Recovering After Silver Plate Surgery At UW

From Laramie word states Mario Fedrizzi former Rock SpringsHigh School star and University of Wyoming student is recovering well after an operation to repair a badly broken collar bone with four silver plates. Also reported a small fire at the local telephone office caused by chimney sparks but quickly contained with minimal damage. George Johnston crossed Green River on the east side and his horse fell through the ice. both were soaked and he plans to avoid town until bridges are repaired.

Wyoming High School Week crowns Wheatland again

More than 750 Wyoming high school students visited the State University for the 28th Annual High School Week. Wheatland won Class A in a tight tournament, Lyman topped Class C, and Lingle took Class B with Green River as runner up. Academics featured Basin winners in debate and multiple contests across fifteen towns. Miss Lilley Young led the academics with strong assistant Flore Krueger.
