A Journal survey finds eight of over 30 respondents in Biddeford Saco watched the great debate. Reactions were mixed with Carter and Ford labeled drab by some, and others praising points on overseas policy, taxes and leadership. Maine foliage forecast shifts toward New Hampshire preview

The Maine Automobile Association reports a weekend preview in New Hampshire's White Mountains with about 50 percent color. Moosehead Lake near complete change and Rangeley around 60 percent. Peak in central and southern Maine expected mid state in two weeks and mid coast by mid October.

Babysitters May Need Licenses In Biddeford Saco Area

Day care licensing rules require licenses for caring for more than two unrelated children regularly. In Saco two homes are licensed, Biddeford has four, with licenses issued by the State Department of Human Services. Licensing checks every three months to ensure space, safety, and health standards. a new $10 license fee began Aug. 1, 1965.
