OLD ORCHARD BEACH A 45 member count was reported by Mrs. Rose Fournier at the C Fayette Staples Unit meeting. Reports from Secretary and Treasurer were given. Laura Anderson joined. Antonia Harquoil won the mystery prize.
Wells The first full meeting of the Mothers Circle of Highpine Chapter Order of DeMolay was held at Highpine Masonic Hall. Plans were made to serve refreshments at the Chapter installation tentatively set for Oct 19. Mrs Evan Smith president will head the committee and all mothers will be contacted for sandwiches.
New Bradford Chapter DeMolay officers were chosen at a Biddeford Masonic Hall meeting led by retiring president Mrs. Pearl Saperia. Elected were Mrs. Evelyn Randall president, Mrs. Phyllis Sanborn secretary, Mrs. Clarise Hanson treasurer, and Mrs. Charlotte Potter chaplain. A Family Night with casserole supper is planned for Sunday Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the Masonic Hall. Installation set for Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Refreshments committee for Oct. 28 includes Mrs. Vivian Stacy Mrs. Norma Arsenault and Mrs. Dorothy Tarbox.
Last night at Sweetser Children's Home in Saco new officers of the Community Child and Family Guidance Association were named. Rev. Robert M. Howes of Kennebunkport was elected president with Eleanor Rice of Sanford as vice president, Reno Roy of Saco as treasurer, Edwin G. Walker of Saco as clerk, and Joseph A. Plamondon of Biddeford as secretary pro-tem. The organization plans a 50 member body and a 15 member board to run the clinic, with six reps from Sanford Springvale, six from Biddeford Saco Old Orchard Beach, and three from Kennebunk Kennebunkport. Clinic services will be purchased from Sweetser Children’s Home in Saco, which will supervise operations. The Biddeford Saco Old Orchard Beach clinic will operate Mondays and Tuesdays at Webber Hospital. Sanford Springvale area on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Henrietta D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. and Kennebunk Kennebunkport area each Friday at Public Health Nursing offices. Social worker Mrs. Sarah Dale will handle local duties, and Dr. William Nieuwkerk, psychiatrist, will report after November 1.
