Nixon Bids For Farm Vote In Iowa Campaign

Vice President Richard M Nixon urged Iowa farmers to back a four point plan under Operation Consume to cut farm surpluses and price supports. He proposed a domestic food reserve and expanded foreign shipments plus payments in kind to retire land and convert grain to protein foods for hungry nations and school lunch programs. He set a four year target to reduce a ten billion dollar surplus, noting costs now to reduce long term. He would reveal price support plans in Sioux Falls and outline Operation Safeguard to prevent new surpluses.

Kennedy Criticizes GOP Pace In Pa Campaign Stop

Campbell Injured As Blue Bird II Crashes at 300 MPH

British speed racer Donald Campbell was hurt when his 4250 horsepower Blue Bird II wrecked at Bonneville Salt Flats Utah during a return run at about 300 mph. He was rushed to a Topelega hospital with a head gash and shock. officials said the car was heavily damaged and may not be repairable.

Lola Kramarsky, born in Hamburg and longtime Zionist, was elected Hadassah president on Sept. 14. At the annual Biddeford Pool Volunteer Fire department meeting officers were chosen for the year led by president Charles Small Jr. Others elected include Robert F.
