Maine Town Recreation Programs Run Month to Month
HALLOWELL Maine Manpower Consultant Leigh Flint of the Maine Municipal Association says there should be no problem with federal funds under the Emergency Employment Act for the first session of Congress next January. He notes Kennebunk Recreation Director Steven Austin and other town recreation officials have started a robust fall-winter program while Congress has authorized two years but only one year of funding has been appropriated. About 30 communities in the state are operating on a monthly basis, and Flint is pleased with progress and initiative in recreation efforts across the region.
