Union workers in Biddeford urged to accept latest company offer after eight hour mediation. First shift workers will leave early at 2 30 PM to attend at St John s Hall while second shift reports after the meeting. If accepted, a midnight strike by 900 members at the Saco plant will be averted.

Wells Couple Vanish After Plane Missing Over Northeast

Civil Air Patrol planes searched three states for a four passenger Cessna 172 carrying Herbert Brooks 38 and Beverly Brooks 33 missing after departing Skyhaven Airport Wells Maine on a round trip to Hartford Conn. Charter Changes Approved in Old Orchard Beach Vote

Portland AP reports Sanford remains among about 85 communities in 43 states still under consideration for the federal atom smasher site. The Atomic Energy Commission told Sen.
