Child Is First Victim Of Polio In Maine This Year
Three year old Charline Pelletier died of paralytic polio Thursday night at an Edmonston New Brunswick hospital after being struck while visiting Grand Isle. She was the first Maine polio victim to die this year and had received three Salk vaccine shots. Harold Thomas of Presque Isle remained in poor condition at Maine Medical Center. his wife and five children had polio shots.

Body Of Massachusetts Man Found At Ogunquit Beach
The Cambridge man Samuel Marcus, 65, feared drowned last night at Ogunquit Beach, was found this morning about 300 yards offshore. Fire department amphibious dock crews located the body. Medical Examiner Dr. James Johnston said Marcus may have died of a heart attack. Coast Guard and local agencies conducted an extensive search with a Fletcher's Neck picket boat helping offshore.
