Tobacco Firms Sued By FTC Fight Over Anti Smoking Fund
The FTC and Justice Department sued six top tobacco makers over failure to display required health warnings and sought a trust fund to finance future anti smoking campaigns. Firms named include Philip Morris American Brands Brown & Williamson R J Reynolds Liggett & Myers and Lorillard. Damages of 10000 per day of violation back to March 30 1972 were sought.
