Soblen Appar ently Concealed Poison in Secret Pocket
London AP Scotland Yard detective testified that Robert A Soblen, a 61 year old New York psychiatrist and Soviet spy fugitive, apparently slipped into a fatal coma on Sept 6 from a drug hidden in a secret pocket of his trousers. The inquest heard lotusate was used, a drug not sold in stores and supplied as free samples to doctors. He collapsed en route from Brixton Prison to London Airport and died five days later. A Brixton guard said Soblen had been searched minutes earlier before boarding the ambulance.
