Organ Mastery at Hudson River Home Turns Residence Into Instrument
Virgil Fox, renowned concert organist, spends five years turning his 26 room gray stone Tudor on the Hudson in Englewood New Jersey into a vast home organ. The instrument features 55 ranks and 3 500 pipes across Great Pedal Swell Choir and planned divisions. Fox plays four keyboards with feet on the pedal, managing hundreds of stops from memory between tours and classes, as organ music fills the Palisades Parkway home.
