Ward 5 splits with Perrin supported by the City panel and Yarborough by the Social club. Ward 7 sees Buckley backed by the Social club and Sanborn by the City committee. Both groups back Campbell, Reay, Boutet, Libby for other alderman seats. Ayotte named for a three year term on the Superintending School committee.
Seven black Angus bulls owned by Charles Douville were reported loose in Saco this morning. Six bulls were on the Edwards plant property of the Saco Lowell shops, and one on Tasker Street near the Theodore T Young School. Police were trying to corner them.
President Charles de Gaulle and the Gaullist UNR scored a resounding win in the first round of National Assembly elections. The UNR captured 50 of 104 seats decided Sunday, displacing the Communists as France’s strongest party and leading the overall tally.
The Saco Democratic Social Club endorsed candidates for the caucus nomination last night. Ronald Ayotte heads the slate for a three year term on the Superintending School Committee, with ward aldermen Myron Campbell Ward 1 Paul Reay Ward 2 Chandler Boutet Ward 3 Richard Libby Ward 4 Glenn Yarborough Ward 5 Samuel Gagnon Sr Ward 6 and William Buckley Ward 7. Frank M. Jones, Social Club.
