Railroad Chief Denies Plan To End Passenger Service
Augusta Maine Central Railroad President E Spencer Miller told the Maine Legislature that the company did not inform lawmakers about plans to discontinue passenger train service nor did it reject a tax relief offer. He described such talk as corridor talk and said any relief would have little effect on the decision to cut service. Senator Allan Woodcock Jr said relief had been considered.
