A volley of blasts between the York county Republican committee and Biddeford Democrats spices up quiet pre election activity. A good turnout is expected at the polls tomorrow in Biddeford, seen as key to county politics and a major factor in state elections.
A medium to heavy turnout is forecast in Saco for Tuesday's state election with 3000 to 3500 voters. The race highlights two Saco men and one Saco woman running for county offices including Republican County Attorney John J. Harvey seeking re-election and a Democratic challenger.

Campaigns for Maine governorship and two congressional seats end with final TV shouts. Republicans air at 7 30 pm led by Gov iced and candidates Tupper McIntire and Sen. Margaret Chase Smith. Democrats follow at 8 30 pm with Maynard Dolloff Kellam Hathaway Muskie. Turnout expected over 300000. Muskie and McIntire spar over Cuban policy.
The Weather Bureau forecast a dry and chilly Election Day across much of the nation. President Kennedy planned to fly to Boston to vote for his brother Edward M. Kennedy in the Massachusetts Senate race while the First Lady casts an absentee ballot. Republicans favored to win 19 governorships, Democrats 16, with potential shifts in state power.
President Kennedy expects continued U S surveillance of Cuba to prevent future Soviet missile incursions. Aerial photos show renewed threat as Khrushchev acts on his pledge to dismantle bases. International inspection by U N teams deemed essential, with Castro able to bar entrants, Mikoyan in Havana amid talks.
Two more candidates announced in December Democratic primary backing Albert C. Lambert for mayor. William F. Minnihan of 158 Hill Street will run for Board of Education, while Roland O. St. Ours of 246 Elm Street seeks a seat on the Police Commission.
