District 11 President Gertrude Tremblin and Sanford associate led the ceremony, with guests from Sanford and South Portland. A social hour and buffet lunch followed, and details note new post leaders including Joseph Lenkowski and Robert Pettengill along with various officers. Also noted is the licensing achievement of Kim Girardson, who earned a Master Plumber license after passing the Maine examination in Augusta.

Churches Council Chooses Officers
The Biddeford-Saco Council of Churches annual meeting at United Methodist Church in Saco elected new officers for the coming year. Officers are Mrs. Allen Dutton president Rev. Nicholas Dufault first vice president Frederick L. O Neil Jr second vice president Mrs. Virginia Cartmill secretary and Mrs. Sylvia Searle treasurer. Mrs. Dutton announced four meetings will be held June 4 at 7:30 p.m. at First Parish Congregational Church. Retiring president Rev. Theodore Euson conducted the meeting and introduced Rev. Kenneth L Swetland of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary as guest speaker. Refreshments followed.
