May 30 1868 general order by General John A Logan designated the day for decorating graves of Civil War soldiers. By mid 20th century Memorial Day spread nationwide and now honors dead from all wars. Maremont Wins Adds on Shillelagh Missile Work
The New England Division of Maremont Corp secures two contracts for the Shillelagh missile fore and aft bulkheads valued at 75 459 and 86 254 dollars. Father Feeney Returns To Rhine Seeheim
Chaplain John J. Feeney formerly of Saco Maine and later of Fordham and Boston University helped build a floating 250 foot footbridge to an island in the Rhine near Seeheim with the 237th Engineering Battalion and the 93d Float Bridge unit. He served as a combat engineer and later rejoined the Army in 1966 serving in Vietnam before joining the 540th Eng Group in 1967. He recalls river operations with the Timberwolf Division and notes their Remagen Bridgehead heritage and motto Nothing in Hell can stop the Timberwolves.

McCarthy Upsets Kennedy In Oregon Primary
Sen. Eugene J. McCarthy won 44 percent to Kennedy's 38 percent in Oregon edging ahead as Nixon led Republicans with 72 percent. The result strengthens McCarthy’s bid while Kennedy’s path shifts to California for next Tuesday's primary. Humphrey lingered at 5 percent on write ins as Johnson drew 13 percent. Nomination votes awarded McCarthy 35 delegates and Nixon 18 with two ballots bound until 35 percent.
