Gelder confirmation vote set for Maine Housing post
Maine Governor James B. Longley backs Genevieve K Gelder for the $24000 a year executive director post of the Maine Housing Authority despite opposition from Richard Sevigny of the Home Builders Association and criticism over her technical background. Gelder has eight months on the advisory board and says the role needs administration and coordination. Architect Nicholas Holt supports her, and she is married to former state official Ralph Gelder. The Maine Executive Council will vote after a Thursday public hearing.
