Wells town officials granted permission to Elbridge and Leroy Hanson Post American Legion members to hold tag days in Wells and Ogunquit on July 4 5 and 6 to raise funds for a colors stand. Edward G Simpson Jr commander and John F Harrington adjutant will head the project with approval from Spaulding E Owen town manager and the Wells Board of Selectmen led by Robert Wentworth.

Morse elected commander of Saco American Legion post
A slate of officers was elected at Owen Davis Post American Legion in Saco. Robert Morse was chosen commander with Arthur McKee first vice commander and Robert Mondor second vice commander. Delegates to the Department convention were Morse McKee Ouellette and Mondor with Green Varney Rankin as alternates. Mondor was named to take charge of lunch at the next meeting.
