Senate debate on the civil rights bill centers on Title Seven equal employment provisions and the public accommodations clause. Amendments seek to limit federal power, shift cases to state agencies, and win a two thirds vote to end the Southern filibuster.
The Keir Kardia Club of the Advent Christian church met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Goodwin Monday evening with President Leo Goodwin leading devotions and a brief business session. Wallace Cole presented colored slides from his 1962 Yukon tour with the American Geographic Society. Refreshments followed the meeting.
