Biddeford Reservoir Undergoing Deep Cleaning Work
The Biddeford water reservoir on upper South Street, normally holding seven million gallons, is being cleaned with seven workers drilling and sand blasting its 30 foot deep stone walls. Cement will be sprayed to seal cracks as water from the Saco River is treated and stored for Biddeford, Saco, Old Orchard Beach, and Pine Point. The project, by Northern Gunite Co., involves relining pipes and inspecting the 20 foot diameter lines with miners lamps as the work continues.
