A U S Coast Guard helicopter and multiple boats assisted Old Orchard Beach police in a Tuesday search for the body of 19 year old Alan Jones of 34 Union Ave seen clinging to a paddle in heavy surf off Union Avenue. Authorities continued the search for the missing youth.
Selectmen consider blocking the Howard Johnson's liquor license on the Maine Turnpike as the chain contests property taxation. Tax records show Johnsons owes Kennebunk 34,501.72 for 1973 and 36,854 for 1974, about 32 percent of the 117,000 in unpaid taxes for that year.
Omaha in the path of a trio of tornadoes that killed three people and injured over 100, with millions in property damage. National Weather Service confirmed widespread strikes across northeast Nebraska. Gov.
