Biddeford Reading Grant Extended For Kindergarten Program
The Biddeford School Department will receive a doubled federal grant of 1780 from the U S Department of Health Education and Welfare to continue the Southwest Reading Laboratories program for another year. The grant funds program materials only and supports kindergarten classes at St Andrews School and two public kindergartens. If satisfactory, the program may join the regular curriculum with parent involvement. The program has an initial concept phase teaching 96 concepts and alphabet, then the IBRP phase teaching 100 sight words and word endings.
