Kennebunk Red Cross elected new officers and directors for the coming three years at a meeting held in the Unitarian church. J Frank Harrison presided as chair. Anthony Famiano of Pease Air Force Base spoke on disaster relief and a film titled One Hundred Years Young was shown. New directors include Sven Hoosler John Kotlewski Mrs Audrey Schneider Miss Alice Gibson and K Elwood Ladd. Officers elected are Harrison as chairman George Noiles as vice chairman Mrs Josef Arentz as secretary and Sven HvOSlef as treasurer.

Kennebunk Opens First Municipal Communications Center
Kennebunk welcomed its first municipal communications center with shifts covered by Everett Lebarge Raymond Haines Milton Maling and Leo Thibeau who will rotate weekly. The system will operate from the industrial building until new quarters are ready and will handle all police and fire calls. Town Manager Robert York announced arrangements with the Light and Power District keeping Marshall Soule on to aid in the transition as the hydroelectric plant's closure ends the prior arrangement.
