A Wednesday Legion post meeting welcomed new member James Ardiner at the Post home. York County Council schedules its April 19 Wells meeting to present a new slate of officers. Several locals attended events including a luncheon for Olympian club officers and a dessert bridge for Webhannet club fundraising. Gerald Dickson underwent a tonsillectomy at Webber Hospital. An open house for Kennebunk Savings and Loan on Main Street is set for 4 to 8 PM today.

Wells School Board Awards Bus Contracts
The Wells School Board awarded bus routes to Robert K. Brown from bids dated December 18, 1962. Route 1 uses a station wagon on Tatnic road for 20 cents per mile with 35 miles daily. Route 2 uses a Ford bus on Bald Hill Merriland Ridge and Sanford road for 38 cents per mile and 60 miles daily. Route 3 covers Wells Bratch Highpine and Sanford road areas with a Chevrolet bus at 37 miles per day.

The Wells Beach department received permission to order a new water tank for the tank truck. A committee to study a Central fire station will be appointed next meeting.
